REVIEW:

These Organic Ginger candies from Go Naturally are delightfully fresh tasting.  Ginger is a very strong flavor that can be over-powering and spicy.  Not these case with this ginger candy.  It has a light ginger flavor that is suitable for all.  I found the ginger flavor to be sweeter than I expected which is really nice and refreshing.  A hint of a spice at the end reminds you that it is a ginger candy, but does so without interfering with the overall taste.  Ginger is a great natural breath freshener and these candies would be a wonderful alternative to the everyday mint.   They are certainly something of a palate cleanser as well as it leaves you with a pleasant but not over-powering zingyness. 

The Hillside Candy company’s website is very extensive and informative.  They detail what it means to be organic and confirm that this is “clean” candy, without any additives, no trans fats, no preservatives and most importantly, no high fructose corn syrup.  That stuff makes its way into everything nowadays and it’s good to see a candy made the old fashioned way with real wholesome ingredients.  These are also hand-made which means to me that this company takes pride in their product.  Taking one look at the ingredients confirms the same thing.  In addition to being gluten free, these delicious candies are also vegan.  The ingredients are simple, cane juice, brown rice syrup and ginger oil.  With just 60 calories for every 4 hard candies, these aren’t too bad for you.  Go Naturally’s simplistic approach in this product pays off, making this a candy you can enjoy without feeling guilty.  These are really delicious candies and a brand and product I will look for and support in the future.
