Goldbaums Natural Food Co.’s website says that each of the their products gets the distinctive Goldbaums treatment – rigorous testing and tasting by researchers and staff to determine that the product is of most superior caliber. After tasting their All Natural and Gluten Free Brown Rice Pasta in Fettuccine form, I know their researchers and staff have good taste. We have tried many gluten free pastas in our test kitchen and this is definitely one of the best we’ve had yet.
Cooking this pasta was just like any pasta. Just boil it in water uncovered for 7-10 minutes and add salt and oil if desired. With some of the rice pastas we have tried, the pasta fell apart while cooking or came out too soft. I was very impressed with how this pasta came out. It held its shape perfectly and was cooked to al dente perfection. Taste was great too. A lot of times, pasta doesn’t really have much flavor because it’s just made with wheat flour. This brown rice pasta has the distinct brown rice flavor which is a slightly sweet.

As far as pastas go, this is also one of the healthier ones. 190 calories is about normal for pasta, but with 0.2 grams of total fat per serving, no cholesterol and just 3 milligrams of sodium this much healthier than a traditional fettuccine pasta which usually contains well over 100 mg of sodium per serving.
Overall, we really loved this pasta. It’s a healthier pasta alternative that is low fat, cholesterol free, sodium free, egg free, wheat free, and gluten free that also tastes better and has great texture. What’s not to like? At $3.79 per package, although it is a little more expensive than your traditional pasta, it isn’t a bad value. Taste: As far as pastas go, this one is one of the best we’ve tasted. It has a nice brown rice flavor with perfect texture.
